Indications have emerged that the Saraki led Senate paid double the price for the 108 Toyota Land Cruiser Sport Utility Vehicles it ordered for senators. The SUVs were procured at an inflated cost of N3.8billion. The Legislators or “Legislooters” purchased each vehicle for N35.1m when the same Toyota Land Cruiser SUV V6 2016 model costs N17 million in the showroom in Nigeria.
This comes at a time when standing committees of the Senate are crying that lack of funds is preventing them from carrying out their constitutional duties.
It also begs the question: who are these people representing? Majority of Nigerian children go to bed on empty stomach, yet their so called representatives seem to careless.
