Hundreds of African Migrants die in Mediterranean Sea as their boat capsize

Migrants sit on board a cargo ship in the Mediterranean

Hundreds of African migrants have drowned in the Mediterranean when their boat capsized, survivors have told the English network, BBC. This has not been officially confirmed.

The survivors, about 41, said they were transferred to another vessel when their boat sank in the middle of the night. According to them, over 500 people died. Most of the victims are African refugees fleeing the hard times caused by bad leadership across Africa. Nigerians are suspected to be among the victims.

The sea route from Libya to Italy is dangerous and have claimed many lives this year as the number of migrants ready to take the gamble surged.
