Nigeria Army arrests 92 Fulani herdsmen

Troops at a military checkpoint between Abuja and Nasarawa State have arrested 36 people suspected to be Fulani Herdsmen. This was disclosed by the Assistant Director, Army Public Relations of the Guards Brigade, Capt. Bashir Jajira.

The suspected herdsmen said they were on a mission to recover their stolen cows.
Jajira also disclosed that 56, armed, were likewise arrested at a military checkpoint at Dantata, along the Abuja Airport Road.

According to him, ‘one pump action gun, 19 cartridge dane guns, 118 cartridge ammo, 28 cutlasses, 3 jack knives, 14 sticks, 7 torch lights, certificate of occupancy, assorted charms and hard drugs’ were in the herdsmen’s possession at the time of their apprehension.

While interrogated, they said they were going to Nasarawa Local Government in Nasarawa State.

The arrested herdsmen would be handed over to the police for prosecution, Jajira said.
Noteworthy is that there has not be a word from the Commander in Chief on the Herdsmen and Farmers crisis. Hundreds of lives have been lost. Over 100,000 persons and 12,000 families are affected
