Rivers Rerun: DSS Docks SSG, APC Candidate

The Department of State Security today arraigned Secretary to the Rivers State Government , Mr Kenneth Kobani and a leader of the All Progressive Congress, APC in Rivers, Mr Azubuike Chikere Wanjoku at a Federal High Court in Port Harcourt for alleged misconducts that threatened public peace during the Rivers State Election Rerun.

Kobani and others (yet to be apprehended) were, inter-alia, charged for an alleged offence punishable under the Terrorism prevention act of 2011. He pleaded not guilty to the three count charges against him. He was later granted bail on self recognisance by Justice Liman Mohammed.He adjourned the matter to June 15 for hearing.

Also Mr Azubuike Chikere Wanjoku, who bore the APC flag for Ikwerre House of Assembly constituency seat in the rerun, was, among other things, charged with allegedly falsely accusing INEC Electoral Officer , Mr Kingsley Osifu of collecting money from him with the intent to disrupt public order and security. He was also granted him bail to the tune of N500,000.
