The Igbo-Intelligentsia Forum has written an open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari. The advocacy group conveyed its strong concerns over the recent statement credited to the Directorate of State Services , Lawal Musa Daura that a mass grave was found in Abia State and five of the bodies were Fulani Herdsmen. And that they were murdered by members of the Independent Peoples of Biafra (IPOB).
The group described such a claim as “reckless and shameful propaganda.”
Contrary to the DSS claim, the Forum, in the letter signed by Hon Joe Ikunna (Coordinator) and Dr. Katch Ononuju (Secretary of Publicity Sub-Committee) informed the President “that the five bodies found in a shallow grave in a bush in Uturu town were actually kidnap victims and that the unfortunate incident has no ethnic coloration whatsoever”. It said this was revealed after the conclusion of the investigation by the Abia and Imo States governments.
The group asked the President, among other things, to sanction the DG of DSS.
