Saraki Reshuffles His Cards In New ploy to Stall His Trial

Senator Saraki

It was clear that embattled Senator Bukola Saraki has played his last Ace at the Federal High Court Abuja before Justice Adamu Kafarati when he sought to stop his trial, citing rights violations. Kafarati ruled that the anxiety expressed by Saraki was unfounded. He dismissed his case.

Saraki, petrified with the case against him, is not giving up. He will do all, including the dishonourable, to thump the criminal case against him .

He has now reshuffled the same cards he has been playing unsuccessfully and applied directly to the Tribunal Chairman to disqualify himself.
In an application filed Tuesday his lawyer, Ajibola Oluyede, the Senator is raising the same issue of rights violation, which was rejected by Justice Kafarati of the Federal High Court last week.

In the fresh application, Saraki avers he would likely not get fair trial because Umar was allegedly being investigated by EFCC on corruption allegation. EFCC is the same agency prosecuting Saraki before the CCT.

However, sources at the CCT are saying that the tribunal will not hear the application as it is only aimed at distracting the tribunal.
