Commissioner of Police, Oyebade
A 60 year old British national, Asabi Adebayo is now in police net for allegedly purchasing 5 babies at N5million. The crime scene was in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The woman, believed to be engaged in taking babies abroad for sell, ran out of luck when she tried to obtain a certified police report for the bought babies via an Orphanage in Ibadan. This would have cleared the way for her to take them overseas for big money.
Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Leye Oyebade personally paraded the suspect and the babies yesterday at Eleyele Police Headquarters. He explained that the suspect would have gotten away with her crime if not for the moral uprightness of officials of the orphanage, who alerted the police.
The suspect claims to be originally from Lagos State but also a British Citizen.
The babies (two boys and three girls) are less than two years old. The youngest is four months old.
The police is now combing for the baby sellers.
