Trial-Drunk Saraki Revoke Appointment of National Assembly Clerk

Trial-drunk Senate President, Bukola Saraki has cancelled the appointment of Mohammed Sani-Omolori as acting Clerk of the National Assembly.

Saraki made this known today through a memo to that effect, addressed to the Executive Chairman, National Assembly Service Commission, Adamu M. Fika, and signed by Senator Isa Galaudu, Chief of Staff to the Senate President.

This move is seen by watchers as an effort by the embattled Senate President to flex his powers and shake off the stress of his trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal CCT.

Time will tell which effect Saraki’s order will have on the Unity of the National Assembly.
