Leaders Will Now Account for Sudden Wealth in Nigeria – Osinbajo

                                                     Prof. Yemi Osinbajo

The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has disclosed a new strategy in the fight against corruption by political office holders in the country. While fielding questions in a Town Hall Meeting yesterday in Lagos organised by the United Action for Change (UAC), he said current and former public office holders will now be required to account for the source of their wealth. Saying that the era is gone when people would become billionaires overnight without questions being asked.

Anybody who can’t explain his wealth must be brought to account. Everyone who has served in public office must account for what they own…..This is the change we want Nigerians to support.”

Only time will tell if the Buhari government will walk the talk. Corruption by mindless public have twisted the destiny of Nigerians as they were only offered a slice of gutter-life by their country that has earned over $700billion from oil export alone since independence.
