Malaria claimed 22,000 lives in Kano State in 2015, Kano State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Kabiru Gets disclosed today. He spoke at an event marking World Malaria Day.
Getso attributed the high number of deaths to environmental challenges.
“The present administration recently purchased N59 million worth of items to curb malaria in the state and these include malaria test machines, drugs as well as mosquitoes nets”.
He also said the state has embarked on special training of health workers on malaria management.
