Who wants Edo State deputy governor, Dr. Pius Odubu dead?
This is the unanswered question today after unknown gunmen attacked Odubu yesterday at the APC secretariat, Auchi as he was receiving a delegation.
The attack took place minutes after Edo Governor Adams Oshiomhole and Odubu eased away from a party hosted by representative of the Estako Central Constituency in the House of Assembly, Damian Lawani.
According to an eye witness the gunmen turned up at the secretariat and immediately opened fire on the deputy governor and others.
Five persons are reported to have been badly injured. The Guard Commander of the Deputy Governor’s Police team, who covered Odubu during the attack is among the injured.
It is known that Odubu and his boss are not in the best of terms, as Oshiomhole recently accused his deputy in public that he contracted a juju priest to kill him.
This attack comes only few weeks before the APC governorship primaries in the state. Odubu is contesting to succeed Oshiomhole even though he does not enjoy the blessings of the latter.
