The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC yesterday disclosed that the detained cousin of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Aziboala Roberts, received $40million from Col. Sambo Dasuki.
EFCC counsel F.A. Jirbo, dropped the bombshell as he opposed a fundamental rights application brought by Roberts before an FCT High Court.
He said the accused got the money sometime in September, 2014 from Dasuki on the pretence that he will supply “tactical communication kits.”
The Counsel informed the court that the money was wired from the Citibank N.A. at Canada Square Canary, Canada into the Zenith Bank Plc account of Roberts’ company, Oneplus Holdings Ltd.
He also told the court that Roberts’ bank statement of account reveals that another N650 million was on December 8, 2014 transferred to him by Dasuki.
