A group, Concerned Militant Leaders (CML), has given Fulani Herdsmen 14 days to leave the Sout East and South South. It said it would declare war on them after two weeks should they remain in those zones after the expiration of the deadline, reports The Sun.
Spokesman of CML, simply known as General Ben, asked the Federal Government to within the 14 days deadline, tell Nigerians who these Fulani herdsmen are. And if it fails to do so, the group threatened an unprecendented wave of kidnapping and killing of the “so-called herdsmen”.
He said that they have waited patiently to see Federal Government’s reaction to the horrific killing of innocent Nigerians, especially the recent massacre of people, including women and children in a community in Enugu State.
Ben expressed disappointment that government has not demonstrated sincere commitment to stop the atrocities of the Fulani herdsmen. “After two weeks, starting from today, Tuesday, May 3, we are going to search for Fulani herdsmen. Since Federal Government cannot tell us who they are up till now, we are going to look for them,” he said.
The CML spokesperson called the attacks provocative. “The Fulani herdsmen have indirectly challenged us, asking us what we can do. But, we promise them that we will not allow them to go without taking revenge. It is an insult and we will give them back.”
