It will be Trump at last!
New York Businessman, Donald Trump defeated closest rival, Ted Cruz early this morning in Indiana to force Cruz to pack up his campaign and clear the way for him to emerge as the party’s presumptive nominee for the US Presidential Election in November. He now has a clear ride to the 1,237 delegates needed.
If Trump is eventually confirmed by the Republication Convention in summer, he would be the first nominee since Dwight Eisenhower in 1952 without any previous political experience.
The vowing of Ohio Governor John Kasich to remain in the Republican race simply means that he is now on a political frolic. He trails too far behind Mr Trump in terms of delegates and can never catch up.
The setting is getting ready for Hilary Vs, Trump clash, though the former lost to Bernie Sanders in Indiana, Sanders is also very much behind in the delegate count. And the Clinton campaign is convinced that the contest is over.
Trump has rubbished all prediction and survived all skirmishes to deny him the Republican ticket. However, in all the leading polls, Hilary Clinton is well ahead.
In any case, in politics, things could change quickly.
