Army inaugurates court martial to try 2 GeneralsMajor-Generals Patrick Falola and Ibrahim Sani

The Nigeria Army has inaugurated a special court martial to try two generals on conduct unbecoming of military officers punishable under the Armed Forces Act.

The inauguration took place yesterday at the Army Headquarters Garrison, Mogadishu Cantonment, Abuja. It was was convened on the orders of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai

The two to be tried are: Major General Ibrahim Sani, a former Chief of Army Transformation and Innovation Centre and Major General Patrick Falola a former Commander, Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Yaba Lagos.
Though no offence was read out at the inauguration but sources say they are facing charges bordering on conduct unbecoming of military officers.

Members of the court are:  Air Vice Marshal James Gbum who will serve as President, Air Vice Marshal Iya Abdullahi and Rear Admiral Peter Agba. Surgeon Rear Admiral Edwin Enechukwu is a waiting member and Colonel Sa’ad Musa is the Judge Advocate.

After the induction, the President of the Court adjourned the case to Monday, May 9, for arraignment and start of trial.
