Armed operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC this afternoon, in a surprise twist stormed the No 5, Zuma Close, off Aso Drive, Abuja home of former basket-mouth of Goodluck Jonathan’s Presidential Campaign Organization, Femi Fani-Kayode.
The EFCC had earlier in the day sent a letter to Fani-Kayode’s, asking him to report at their Abuja office at 10.00am on Monday for question regarding the his role in the presidential campaign funds shared by ex National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki. The letter was signed by Mr. Mohammed Umar Abba on behalf of the EFCC acting chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Magu. And Fani-Kayode had through his lawyer assured the EFCC that he will be there.
Fani-Kayode expressed shock on his Facebook page that despite that assurance the EFCC has sent operatives to surround his house.
Today, the EFCC invited me to come their office on Monday. I have their letter. I agreed to be there. Now they have surrounded my house. “The letter of invitation was served this morning and it was dated May 6. They said I should report on the 9th. Can someone please tell me why they are at my gate? They can’t even wait because they want to detain me so badly and keep me away for the weekend. “I never refused their invitation. Why all this? I leave them to God.”
He is alleged to have received N840m from the PDP campaign slush fund.
