Another Cameroon international, Patrick Ekeng slumped on the pitch last night in a televised league match between Dinamo Bucharest and Viitorul in the 70th minute.He was two hours later certified dead in a hospital.
The tragic death has been confirmed by the Cameroonian FA on Twitter. Also his former club, Cordoba tweeted: “We have no words to express our sadness at the loss.”
In his short career, Ekeng had also played for Le Mans and Lausanne.
Recall that in 2003, another Cameroon international midfielder Marc-Vivien Foe also died after collapsing in a Confederations Cup match against Colombia in France.
