Nigeria and Manchester City striker, Kelechi Iheanacho is pressing for new wages commensurate with the top quality player he has proven in 2015/16 season that he is. He is now demanding a new deal worth £150,000 per week. This by simple mathematics translates to a yearly £7.2 million income.
His advisers believe he has proven that Raheem Sterling &co are not better. They also feel the young Iheanacho has shown he his better than Wilfried Bony, signed for £28 million from Swansea 17 months ago.
Sterling, who came from Liverpool for a total package of £49 million last summer, has hit the net 11 times in his first season with the Citizens, while Bony, who earns £100,000-a-week plus a £20,000-per-game bonus, has scored only eight goals this season and a total of ten in all competitions since he arrived from Swansea in January last year.
Iheanacho, currently on £15,000 per week, would definitely be offered an improved contract, according to The Mirror.
Iheanacho’s goals have come mainly off the bench, which means he has one of the best goal-per-minute ratio in Europe.
