
Ageless Chelsea defender John Terry has signed a new one-year deal that keeps him at Stamford Bridge for another one year, after an emotional outburst at the end of the last premier league match for the season on Sunday. This has just been announced on Chelsea’s website.
In an emotional speech after the London club’s final league game against Leicester on Sunday, Terry, who would have been out of contract in the summer, cried to remain at the club.
“Everyone knows I’m Chelsea through and through,” the ex-England captain said.
“I am looking forward to next season under the new manager and hopefully we can make it a successful one.”
Terry has played 703 times for the Blues, where he started his professional career. He won four Premier League titles, five FA Cups, three League Cups, and Champions League and Europa League triumphss with the club.
