The former National Security Adviser (NSA), retired Col. Sambo Dasuki, yesterday told the ECOWAS Community Court of Justice in Abuja that the federal government had no legal or moral justification for his continued detention since December.

Dasuki, represented by counsel, Robert Emukperuo, supported his position by citing the provisions of Sections 293-296 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act ACJA 2015, which outline the procedure for keeping a suspect in detention for not more than two weeks.

He asked the court to order the release of his client, as well punish the government for its misbehavior with an order to pay N500 million as compensation to Dasuki.
