The Senior Special Assistant on Security to Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, Denen Igbana has been killed by unknown gunmen, NAN has reported.
He was murdered when gunmen stormed his home by 2:30am today and shot him at close range. He was rushed to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital where he was confirmed dead.
Ortom has visited the family of the deceased in Tionsha. He described Igbana as one of his most trusted and dependable appointees and that he was instrumental to the sustenance of the amnesty programme in the state that led to the surrender of arms by criminal gangs.
He vowed to find his killers after disclosing that the deceased told him that some people were threatening to kidnap him when he (Igbana) requested for funds to carry out fencing of his house.
