Badly trained Nigerian Police have killed a student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Samuel Chimezie Emeagwu.
According to benue.com,ng, he was beaten to death by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS in Makurdi, Benue State capital on Monday.
The deceased, in his late 20s, had a brawl with his friend whom he believed stole his phone. The said friend later got the SARS policemen to arrest him. SARS, as usual, brutalized the deceased.
As they beat him, Samuel fell unconscious and was rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
The victim is Igbo and it is still not clear if this played any role as the incident happened in Tiv Benue State. It is unusual that police will descend heavily in this way on a young man, who merely had a fight with a friend.
