There was cursing and wailing today as ex-banker, Ronke Shonde, allegedly killed by her husband, was quietly returned to mother earth at the Atan cemetery, Yaba.
The high point was when her corpse was being lowered into the grave, after a pastor from Destiny Sanctuary gave a five minutes sermon. People wept uncontrollably.
Relatives, who feel disappointed by the result of the autopsy, however demanded that justice be served.
“Honestly, justice should be served because these children have been deprived of the joy of having a mother. They will never know motherhood, but when they grow up and understand what deprived them of that joy, they will be comforted that justice was done. I believe that is the only thing that will sooth them in years to come,” said a male relative of the deceased.
