San Francisco’s Police Chief, Greg Suhr has been sacked hours after a police officer shot and killed a young black woman suspected to be driving a stolen car.

The resignation was personally announced by Mayor Ed Lee, who had asked him to take a walk.

Suhr and city police had in recent months come being heavily criticized over fatal police shootings of numerous black suspects.
It was also leaked a number of officers had exchanged nasty racist text messages.
