It seems the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has at last tossed away Modu Sheriff as party chairman.
Today in port Harcourt, the party reversed an earlier decision to postpone its national convention.
It then went ahead with the convention and at the end announced the removal of its national officers. It appointed a caretaker committee. A former Governor of Kaduna, Sen. Ahmed Makarfi will head the committee.
Former Governor Babangida Aliyu of Niger State confirmed that the chairman of the party, Modu Sheriff has been removed. He also confirmed the sacking of all members of the party’s national working committee.
This comes as a relief to many within the party, who sees Sheriff, tainted by Boko Haram allegations, as a burden.
