The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has again arrested Nnamdi Okonkwo, the Managing Director of Fidelity Bank PLC, after the unearthing of $153 million in new funds also laundered through the bank by ex- oil minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, Saharareporters report.
Also nabbed was one of the bank’s Heads of Operations.
It was gathered that the two top management officials were arrested and detained at the Lagos office of the anti-graft agency. It followed the emergence of new evidence which shows that Alison-Madueke laundered the money through the bank for purposes manipulating the 2015 elections to favour former President Goodluck Jonathan.
This was not disclosed by Okonkwo during his first encounter with EFCC interrogators
