As the ultimatum given by the Niger Delta Avengers to Atiku, Danjuma and others expires today, it appears that the group has cranked up action. In a tweet today @NDAvengers, the militant group said they have destroyed the main pipeline supplying gas that provides electricity to the Escravos tank farm in Delta. It is owned by Chevron.
The Avengers said the action became necessary after Chevron ignored its May 12 warning not to repair a major crude pipeline blown up by the group earlier this month.
