Hundreds of passengers are stranded throughout the republic as Dana Air pilots and management bicker over an unpaid allowance.

The pilots stayed away from the cockpit today and grounded the airline’s operations,

“The strike started this morning and passengers that were supposed to travel this morning are stranded,” a source at the airport told our correspondent, adding that the pilots were protesting the non-payment of their salaries,” a source said

According to the source, the airline’s gambled backfired. Dana had continued to sell tickets to passengers earlier today in the hope that the conflict would be resolved.

Spokesperson for Dana Air, Mr. Kingsley Ezenwa, contrary to the pilots’ claim, said the airline has paid all salary arrears. What has not been settled, according to him, is an allowance, which the airline promised the pilots without their demanding it.
