
UNITED Kingdom and Australia yesterday collectively deported 40 Nigerians for over staying their visas and other immigration offences, The Nation reports.
The deportees, including women, arrived at the Hajj camp area of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport at 7:25am on a chartered aircraft.
The chartered aircraft, with the registration number ZTA-4741, brought in 36 Nigerians – 29 males and 7 females.
Similarly, Air Seychelles plane, with the registration number SND-1, brought another four males into the country for related immigration offences.
NIS Public Relations Officer Mr. Ekpedeme King confirmed the deportation. The deportees wore long faces and refused to speak with the press.
