Mohammed Diame saw off Sheffield Wednesday in fabulous style with a 25 yards stunning shot in the 72nd minute.
An excited Hull captain, Michael Dawson said after the game at Wembley, “ a year ago it was tears of disappointment, today it’s tears of joy. I’m delighted for every one of the players, the manager and everyone else.”
Hull, relegated from the topflight last season, is now guaranteed of at least 200million Euros in earnings.
