The Vice Chairman of the emboldened extreme right German party, AFD has landed himself in the middle of a racist row for his unkind comments over national team player, Jerome Boateng of Bayern Munich,
He scandalously said to the Berlin correspondents of Frankfurter Allgemein Zeitung (FAZ), Eckart Lohse und Markus Wehner in Potsdam that Germans like Boateng as a player, but nobody would like to have him as a neighbour.
These unkind comments against a player, who was the rock behind Germany’s winning the 2014 world cup in Brazil, has sparked outrage across the country.
As a result of the immigrant crisis in Germany, the AFD, has been on the rise, as it claims to be “the alternative for Germany.”
However, the racial insult of the Vice Chairman over Boateng, who is capped 57 times for his country, will surely make people see that the AFD is everything but alternative.

Gauland
Oliver Bierhoff, Team Manager of the German National, refused to comment over the racist remarks. “It is not the first time we have heard this type of thing from people like him. The statement in itself discredits itself that one does not have any further need to comment on it,” he said.
Germany’s deputy Vice Chancellor, Sigmar Gabriel (SPD) was disgusted with Gaulaud’s racist comments. He said: “Many are outraged over Gaulands vituperative remarks about Jerome Boateng. He may call it xenophobic, but Boateng is not stranger, but German. This shows Gauland is not only against foreigners, but also against the good of Germany: modernity, openness and liberality. Gaulands AFD is also Germany hostile.”
While a miffed President of Germany’s FA, Reinhard Grindel sees it as “simply tasteless to abuse the popularity of Boateng and the national team for political gains.”
Meanwhile, Chairman of AFD, Frauke Petry has apologized to Boateng for Gauland’s stupid remarks.
