Bayern Munich snub Real Madrid’s 50m Euros dangle for David Alaba

Bundesliga champions, Bayern Munich have snubbed Real Madrid’s 50million Euros offer for versatile Austrian defender, David Alaba, who has Nigerian roots.
Madrid wants Alaba to raise the level of defending on the left flank.

According to the AS newspaper, quoting Alaba’s family sources, Real Madrid’s director, Jose Angel Sanchez has met several times with Alaba’s father, George in his desperate bid to sign the player.

Alaba is wanted by Real as a replacement for Marcelo and also for roles in the midfield, as needs may demand. Although the defender extended his contract in Munich till 2021, yet Real is not giving up. Apart from Madrid, Barcelona and top clubs in England have signified interest in the Austrian, who at the moment is the best in the left back position in the world.

However, sources in Bayern say the club would only  be ready to talk with Real if they are ready to put at least 80million Euros on the table.

Alaba is not only good at defending; he is a master of initiating attacks through his sharp overlapping. This apart, he is a free-kick specialist, who scores regularly with curl-ins or with his thunderous shot.
