BREAKING: Niger Delta Avengers again blow up Chevron oil wells

The Niger Delta Avengers early today eased through the heavy military presence in the Niger Delta region to blow up two important Chevron oil wells in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State, the Punch reports.

It was learnt that the incident took place around 4:00am near Egbema, an Ijaw enclave in Warri North. The destroyed pipelines are identified as Chevron Bibi Oil Well RMP 23 and RMP.

According to the report, Chevron noticed the incident at about 4am following a dip in pressure during production. The wells have been shut down.

The attack has been confirmed by a military source and a staff of Chevron who prefer anonymity. They said that attack led to heavy spillage in the creeks. A group of engineers have been sent to assess the damage and to stop further spread of the spill, they said.
The Niger Delta Avengers have also confirmed the attack in a tweet.
