As expected, Borussia Dortmund’s Ilkay Gündogan is Pep Guardiola’s first signing as coach of Manchester City.
The 25 year old midfield strongman announced this on his twitter account. And the deal has been perfected.
Gündogan joins the Citizens on a four year contract. For the deal, City transferred 30 million Euros to Dortmund. However, due to an existing clause in his contract with former clubs, Dortmund have to give the FC Nürnberg around 4.5million Euros and 500,000 Euros to VFL Bochum.
Gündogan , a master of possession football, says he is excited to join Guardiola, who shares the same philosophy.
