Jonathan is back in Nigeria

Former President Goodluck Jonathan kept good his promise and returned yesterday  to Nigeria  after it was widely rumoured in the media that he has taken political asylum in Ivory Coast.

Jonathan arrived at Port Harcourt International Airport, from where he headed to his country home in Otuoke, Bayelsa State.

Last month, the media was awash with the rumour that he has taken up refuge in the West Africa country fearing arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

The former president was shocked and he denied the report saying that he was not in exile. He had assured Nigerians that he was on a trip to Ivory Coast. He had gone there from the United Kingdom.

Jonathan, it was gathered, was away for one month.
