
Novak Djokovic has just defeated Andy Murray of Britain 3-6, 6-1, 6-2, 6-4 to win the French Open and complete a Calender Grand Slam since Rod Laver in 1969, having won Wimbledon, US Open and this year’s Australian Open.
It was also the first French Open triumph for the world No.1 from Serbia. He now has a total of 12 Grand Slam titles in his career, rejuvenated with the signing of three times Wimbledon winner, Boris Becker of Germany.
Murray, who had being on fantastic form began smoking and won the first set 6-3 against Djokovic who started nervously. But he ralied back to take the next three sets in dominating fashion.
With this victory, Djokovic, unlike other greats like Pete Sampras and Becker, has taken tennis biggest price on all surfaces – Hard, clay and on grass. Only three men in the world have achieved this.
