Everton striker, Romelu Lukaku got a brace (finishing perfectly two counter-attacks) as Belgium relaunched itself in the EURO 2016 with a 3-0 victory against an Irish team that played as if they did not know what was at stake.
Belgium had started the tournament as co-favourites to win the trophy but a 0-2 loss to Italy in the opening match cast a doubt over The Red Devils readiness to rule Europe.
And for the first 45 minutes against Ireland, it had looked as if Belgium players refused to put their talent to use. But three minutes after the break, Lukaku score to cool the nerves of a whole nation. He made it 3-0 in the 70 minute to put it beyond Ireland, after Axel Witsel made it 2-0 in the 61st minute.
Belgium now has three points and need at least a draw against Sweden on Wednesday to be sure of qualifying for the last 16.
