BREAKING NEWS: ‎Obaseki Emerges Winner Of Edo APC Guber Primary

As widely expected, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has won the Edo State gubernatorial primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin, the state capital.

He was declared winner by the Chairman of the Committee on the Conduct of the APC Primary and Governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari around 4:05am this morning.

‎Obaseki and 11 others contested for the APC governorship ticket.

The others are the Deputy Governor, Dr. Pius Odubu; a former governor, Professor Oserhiemen Osunbor, and a former Minister of State for Works, Chris Ogiemwonyi, Maj-Gen Charles Airhiavbere (retd.), Kenneth  Imasuagbon, Peter Esele, ‎Tina Agbarha, Blessing Agbomere, Emmanuel Arigbe-Osula, Professor Ebegue Amadasun and Austin Emuan.

Obaseki polled a total of 1,618 votes to emerge winner.‎

His closest rival was Odubu. He finished a distant second position with 471 votes.

The only female aspirant, Agbarha, had only a miserable three votes.

Obaseki is the Chairman of the Edo State Economy and Strategy team.
