Reacting to accusation by Governor Ayo Fayose that President Muhammadu Buhari’s wife transferred $170,000 to Congressman William Jefferson, who was eventually convicted and imprisoned in the Haliburton case in the United States, Aisha Buhari, in a shocking, emotional response, took to twitter yesterday and labelled Fayose as an unchained mad dog.
Nigerians have gone haywire on Twitter, reacting to the outburst of the President’s wife. However, what Is expect of the first lady, whose husband is fiercely fighting corruption, to such a serious allegation, is not a rant, rather an objective and comprehensive response to the issues raised.
Fayose had also in that video, where he fumed over the freezing of his account by the EFCC, attacked the president himself and challenged him to show where he got the money to fund his elections.
We also expect an honest response from Mr President. This is what democracy is all about.
