Gunmen suspected to be militants have invaded and killed eight residents of Igbo Olomu, Bolorunduro, Ajegunle, and Oke Muti, boundary communities of Lagos and Ogun states.. According to eyewitnesses who escaped from one of the invaded communities, the gunmen believed to be from the Niger Delta came since yesterday through water channel. They said the militants were shooting sporadically.
The killings, which were carried out on Thursday night, have caused residents of the communities to flee their homes.
“I have seen four corpses. The militants have declared a war on us,” one resident, named Giwa Bola, said.
