People in the United Kingdom will wake up this morning in a new world with an uncertain future as it appears the Leave Campaign has won the Brexit historic Referendum with a small majority, but big enough to change the face of the Europe Union and cause uncertainties and anxiety not only in  the EU but across the world.

Although Scotland, Northern Ireland and London areas voted to remain, but the Remain Campaign was turned down outside these areas. As at the last count, the Leave Campiagn has 51.62% of the votes cast, while the Remain has 48.42%.

The first reaction saw the English Pound tumbling in Asian markets against top currencies. It lost 10%, the lowest in over 30 years.

This is a victory for xenophobia, but the UK will suffer in the short and medium term for voting to leave the EU.

At this point, the political future of Prime Minister, David Cameron remians uncertain. He is yet to respond to this devastating defeat, as he supported the Leave Campaign. The pressure on him is huge and really unprecedented.

Leave.EU and UKIP leader Nigel Farage, who had earlier appeared to have conceded that the “Remain” vote had “edged it,” told his supporters that the result heralded a “new dawn” for an independent UK.
Nigel Farage celebrates the leave victory on College Green in Westminster.
He then called on Prime Minister David Cameron to dothe needful and resign as a result of the outcome of the vote.
“The dawn is coming up on an independent United Kingdom, something that you did your absolute best — you used all of your powers — to prevent,” he said.
“You did it using every organ of state available to you. You’ve lost the trust of the British people. Go, go now.”

This vote could also tear apart the Union as Scotland, who voted two years ago to stay in the Union, may now bring back on the table the desire to leave since it see its future as being part of the EU.

Already this has been echoed by the First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon. He  has said a new independence vote is “definitely on the table” after Britain voted against the majority will expressed by Scots.

“Scotland sees its future as part of the EU,” Sturgeon told Sky News after the vote.

With the outcome of the referendum, UK will become the first country to leave the European Union.
