Christiano Ronaldo’s Portugal have reached the semifinal of the European Championship despite the fact that they have failed to win any game within 90 minutes. Portugal, still chasing a major trophy with Ronaldo, defeated Lewandowski led Poland 5-3 on penalties after the game ended 1-1 after extra-time.
Ronaldo may be the superstar, but Portugal have new Bayern Munich signing, Renato Sanches to thank for the victory, who stole the show from the super star.
Robert Lewandowski ended his goal drought when he unsettled Portugal with a very early goal in the 2nd minute. But Sanchez prevented the Polish team from going to half time with the lead when he slammed in a left shot into the far left to level for his country just before the break.

“Wonderful moment for the team and for me for scoring, People criticise us but we don’t care, because we are in the semis,” Sanches said after the victory over a Poland team that started better. Little wonder Lewandowski said after the game that “it hurts and it will hurt for a long time.”
