Unsettled Liverpool Striker, Mario Barlotelli Gets Sampdoria Chance

Balotelli spent last season on loan at AC Milan

Unsettled Liverpool Striker, Mario Barlotelli may have been given an opportunity by Sampdoria President, Massimo Ferrero to relaunch his career. The Italy international spent last season on loan at AC Milan but returned to pre-season training with Liverpool at the weekend as Milan chose not to make his sojourn permanent.

Balotelli’s agent Mino Raiola has struggled to a befitting club for his superbrat client. There had been rumours of moves to China and Turkey, but now a return to his country may be the most likely thing to happen.

“Balotelli is Balotelli’s own worst enemy,” Ferrero told Il Corriere dello Sport. “Just like [Antonio] Cassano is Cassano’s own worst enemy.

“He’s a great player who’s stuck back in the 1960s, stuck in the days of ‘Sapore di sale’ (a classic Italian song about relaxing on the beach).

“He could relaunch (his career) at a passionate club like ours, but I think he’s still got mixed feelings. I’ve tried to tell him to come to Samp because he’s a great talent.”
