Dasuki Drags DSS To Court Over Unlawful Detention

Arms deals: Dasuki fights back

Due to his continuous detention, without trial, for about six months over alleged $2.1billion arms fraud, ex-National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki, yesterday dragged the Department of the State Security Service (DSS) to court in a N15billion suit. Joined as co-defendants are the National Security Adviser (NSA), the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Dasuki, with the suit, is seeking the enforcement of his fundamental human rights as enshrined in Section 46 of the 1999 Constitution.

The matter will be heard in the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). However, the case is yet to be assigned to any judge.

In another development, the Dasuki family yesterday pleaded for bail for the ex-NSA, alleging that his health has deteriorated.
