The Niger Delta Avengers, NDA boasted at the weekend that they will prevent President Muhammadu Buhari from exporting crude oil since he has jettisoned legitimate dialogue with militants and stakeholders on the Niger Delta question.
The group said, in an interview with the Vangaurd, tha the struggle has entered a new phase with Buhari’s disposition of win or lose the war. The Avengers again denied the widespread rumour that ex-militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, who was nominated by the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, MEND as a member of its Aaron 2 Negotiating Team, was the sponsor of the group.
Also another militant group, Niger Delta Revolutionary Crusaders (NDRC) has declared its readiness to combat government and the Saudi Arabia mercenaries it has, allegedly, engaged over the God-given resources of Ijaw people.
However, the People Development Initiative, IPD has stated that the way out of the crisis was to conduct a referendum for the people to make their choice.
