Everton’s £65million price tag on Romelu Lukaku is scaring interested clubs away after some enquiries from Premier League teams about the unsettled striker, who said in May that he wants to win titles.
West Ham and Crystal Palace are among the clubs interested the 23-year-old but they deem Everton demands as too much for them.
The £65million could force the Belgium international to remain at Merseyside against his will this summer, especially if Everton refuse to tune down. Unless they find a club willing to pay the amount.
The £65m fee is also seen as too much by Chelsea that sold Lukaku to Everton for £28m. Now their failure to insert a buy-back clause in the contract then has turned out to be a huge mistake.
Lukaku has not minced words about his desire to leave Everton.
