France star Paul Pogba is on the brink of rejoining Manchester United on a £100 deal and the move is getting closer and closer. Spanish newspaper MARCA reports that Pogba has agreed personal terms.
Former Juventus star, Gianluca Zambrotta, has also urged his former club should cash in.The 2006 World Cup winner insists the Italian champions should sell Pogba and spend the proceeds on “other champions” — just as they did when Real Madrid smashed the world record transfer fee to take Zinedine Zidane from Turin in 2001.
Speaking to Goal Zambrotta said: “I remember when I was playing with Juve Zinidine Zidane was there.
“They sold him to Real Madrid for a record fee and with this money they bought (Gianluigi) Buffon, (Lilian) Thuram and (Pavel) Nedved.
“So, even if Juventus have to sell Pogba, they could buy other champions.”
Pogba stunned everybody when he walked away as a 19 year old in 2012 from Old Trafford. On his surprise exit, former teammate Rio Ferninand said thatPaul Pogba exit from Manchester United left players stunned.
“He was 17, nearly 18, and before he came into the changing room I said, ‘Listen, this kid, I’ve seen him play for the reserves and youths and he has something.
“After he trained, not a player in that Manchester United first team disagreed. Everyone was sold on Paul Pogba. When he left United every player was saying, ‘What the hell is going on?’ But he came to a decision to leave and sometimes these things happen in football.”
