It seems that Iyiola Omisore would keep Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) operatives company for quite sometime. Today, a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Maitama, Abuja dismissed the bail application filed by the former govenorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the ‎2014 election in Osun State.

Recall that Omisore was arrested on July 3 and has since then been in the EFCC custody over criminal investigation in relation to about N1.3bn of the Office the National Security Adviser’s fund allegedly traced to him.

An unamused Justice Olukayode Adeniyi ruled that the bail application was incompetent because it was brought within the period when an order obtained by the EFCC from another judge of the High Court of the FCT, Justice J.O Okeke on July 8, was still valid and subsisting.

Justice Adeniyi advised Omisore to wait for the expiration of the remand order which had a lifespan of 14 days to renew his application for bail.
