Shock As Welder Beheads Farmer In Kwara

Villagers in Rore village in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State have been shocked as a welder, one Segun Bamidele, who is now in police custody, beheaded a fellow villager (farmer), Mr. Sunday Owolabi.

According to the Punch, Owolabi was found dead on his farm at Rore village in the Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The Kwara State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ajayi Okasanmi, has confirmed the beheading. He added that the suspect was being interrogated.

It was understood that after Bamidele beheaded Owolabi, he attempted to sell the severed head.

According to the report, Owolabi went to farm on Saturday, but did not return. This casued concerned for Owolabi’s relatives, who then launched a search for him.

The serach ended on Sunday when they found Owolabi’s headless body on the farm.

A ssource said: “The suspect tried to sell the severed head to one Aliyu, who turned him down. Aliyu thereafter reported the case to a community leader, who in turn informed the village head.

“Upon interrogation by the community, Bamidele confessed to have acted under influence of alcohol.”

It was gathered that the case was later reported at the Omu-Aran Police Division, which led to the arrest of the suspect.”
