THE Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama today told the House of Representatives Ethics and Privilege Committee and House Committee on Foreign Relations that outgone United States of America Ambassador to Nigeria, James Entwistle had apologised for breach of diplomatic protocol by writing directly to House Speaker, Yakubu directly over allegation of sexual misconduct against House members, Mohammed Garba Gololo (APC, Bauchi), Samuel Ikon (PDP, Akwa Ibom) and Mark Gbillah (APC, Benue) – instead of passing through the Foreign affairs ministry.

The minister also told the committee, holding an investigative hearing on the sexual misconduct, that Entwistle had no sufficient evidence to prove that the three members are guilty as alleged.

Entwistle, had in the petition to Dogara alleged that the actions of the three lawmakers at the International Visitor Leadership Programme in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, from 7th to 13th April, 2016, brought disrepute to the parliament by soliciting sex and one of them (Gololo)was reported by a hotel house keeper, who said he grabbed her and begged for sex.

It is now left to be seen what legal steps the embarrassed three House of Representatives members would take against the ambassador.
